One of my favorite quotes about life is “Man cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of himself.”
Here is how I give myself to others:
I provide practical tools and training to help religious educators in Catholic schools and parishes create engaging classroom experiences that inspire life-long faith in the lives of the students and parents they serve. Specifically, I create:
- lesson plans
- Books (31 Days to Becoming a Better Religious Educator)

I create resources that make living with faith in God more practical for people who feel overwhelmed by spirituality. Some prayers and principles that have helped me the most and that I’ve shared are:
- Prayer Before Work
- A Morning Prayer Routine
- Identify the Resistance
- Praying the Examen
- The Angelus Prayer
My first “book” to help make faith more practical to the everyday Catholic is The Lumen Fidei (Light of Faith) Study Guide, which provides a summary, key points, reflection questions, and a commentary on Pope Francis’s first encyclical. Find out more at lumenfidei.com.
I also oversee a website for couples preparing to be married in the Catholic Church: Together for Life Online.
Authors have never had more opportunities to reach their readers and change the world, yet so many of us think like starving artists rather than visionary entrepreneurs. As an author and a teacher, I share the lessons I’m learning about writing, building a platform, launching a book, and building a business.
Some of the best lessons I’ve learned that others authors can apply:
- The Ultimate Book Launch Guide: 33 Ideas any Author Can Use
- A Non-linear Writing Process
- The Self-doubt of a Published Author
- Fear of the Publishing Button
- The Death of the “Blog Subscriber”
- The Essential WordPress Plugin Checklist

My wife and I often say that our main purpose in life is to get our kids and each other to heaven. The way we get to heaven is to love God and love our neighbors (Mt 22:37-39). Based on our family mission statement we teach each other how to love through “prayer, learning, service, opening our home, and always being grateful.”
