May 2020 Highlights & Lessons Learned
A Daily Devotional for Kids
I tried to kick my goal of #1millionwordsforkids into gear last month. I only have one more year to hit my original goal.
I’m pushing pause on writing new Bible story collections as I publish the first four in the series, but I wanted to continue to create something for kids to get them to take Bible breaks with their families. So, I decided to write a 365-day devotional for kids with one Bible verse each day. It is a collection of the words of the Lord.
One of the things I love most about creating these kinds of resources is that I get to grow and learn my own faith along the way.
I hope God will speak to the kids and families who read the daily reflections. I know writing them has made an impact on me.
Here is an example of one of the devotions:
Launching Do Not Be Afraid: Bible Stories for Kids
The first Bible Breaks story collection is finally ready. When COVID-19 hit this year, I was in the middle of another collection of Bible stories about the Eucharist. I shifted gears and started working on a collection that would give kids hope during these difficult days during and post-quarantine.
I’m looking forward to publishing the other books in the series this summer!
Ave Maria Press Author Webinar
I was honored to give a little presentation for my fellow Ave Maria Press authors. I got to share the ways I have built up large email in the last decade. It was a fun presentation to create and helped solidify the strategies that have worked well and continue to help me connect with my audience.
I worked for Ave for many years. It was fun to come in as just an author and speak to some other familiar faces.
