Gary Vaynerchuk’s team puts out a lot of content on social media. How do they come up with so many ideas? How do they have so much to share with Gary Vee is running a multi-million dollar company?
His team just put out a great Slideshare summary of the process they use on social media to create a lot of content with a lot of impact.
They call in The Content Pyramid,
Essentially, it works like this:
- Create long-form pillar content (keynote speech, vlog, podcast)
- Create short-form content (article, meme, image, quote, video, mashup video, remix, etc.)
- Distribute the content on various social networks: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Medium, Quora, Website, Email List, etc.
- Watch the response.
- Share the parts of the pillar content that resonate the most.
Now, most of us do not have a team around us to create all these smaller pieces of content on social media, but the basic process should come as a relief.
Don’t write this off as something only big influencers and creators can do.
Focus your time and effort on one long-form piece of pillar content per week or month. If you are on your own, get narrowly focused on one form of media (text, audio, video).
Then turn that long-form content into regular short-form pieces of content that could get shared social media. Quote memes are easiest. Short articles work well too.
